In 1793, in the West of France, precisely the Vendee region, very devout Catholic peasants, priests, and nobles formed a courageous army, armed with only pitchforks, hunting rifles, clubs, rose in defense of the Cross and Crown, against the Revolutionary Army of France that was against Jesus Christ, and His Holy Church, traditions, marriage, and the family. In their combat that lasted six years, they were marching while praying their rosaries, and wearing the Badge of The Sacred Heart on their chests. Their sacrifices resulted in countless martyrdoms, and ultimately won the religious freedom for all France.

This is a handmade Badge of The Sacred Heart following the pattern of the Vendee Badge. It measures 2.5" x 3" and it is wool red fabric hand sewn on hand dyed natural wool fabric, and embroidered with red cotton floss.
